Gabourey Sidible step out in style as she his the red carpet at the premiere of her latest gig on 'Yelling to the sky' along with the leading star Zoe Kravitz, the daughter of American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and arranger Lenny Kravitz. at the Visual Arts Theater during the Gen Art film festival on Thursday (June 9) in New York City.
Starring: Zoe Kravitz who played the role of a 17 year-old Sweetness O' Hara is the daughter of a mixed race parents in a less than tolerant community. Her father is white, has alcoholic tendencies and a history of being abusive. Her mother, who's black has a mild mental illness, the exact nature of which Sweetness is unsure. Her protective older sister Ola is pregnant, and though she's of great help to Sweetness, has no support for herself from the children father. Yet with all this chaos enveloping her Sweetness still has to deal with the outside world and life in around school is a minefield of obstacles that she must face on a daily basic.
The sponsored Gen Art Film Festival is a non-profit organization that showcases new and emerging talented filmmakers and actors nationwide. After the movie the cast took to the stage to answer question from moviegoers. Then everyone headed to New York City chic meet-packing district to the after party at Giffrin on 50 Gransevoort Street where cast mix and mingle with everyone over beverages provided byAbsolut Vodka and Disaronno.
